Name: Lola
Breed: Basset
Age: 18 Months
Sex: Female

Description:

This is Lola, a bouncy little basset girl. She's spring loaded, and likes to climb. She will often jump up onto the sofa and then onto the top of her kennel where she'll perch and watch out the window for an hour or two. If you aren't careful she likes to jump off of things that are too high for her (like the back of the sofa).

While the vet said she was about 18 months old, her foster mom thinks she may very well be a bit younger. She chews a bit (mostly on hands and your feet), and this is normally when you aren't paying attention to her.

Her foster mom will send all her toys with her when she goes, because when she isn't sleeping, Lola needs to have something to keep her busy. She tears apart cheap squeaky toys, so you have to watch her. She likes to run and play, and will often do laps around the living room.

She knows the commands "sit" and "come", but those are the only two. She is a runner, and needs to be kept fenced in. She digs, but didn't try and get out that way.

Lola is mostly housebroken, but when she gets excited, or if her foster doesn't see her go to the door she has had accidents. And if she wakes you up in the morning, she needs to go outside as soon as possible.

We think she needs a family to be with, and maybe even another dog. As for other dogs, she doesn't seem to mind them, but hasn't had anything more that interaction between a fence. She doesn't mind cats, but the fosters' cats hate her. We don't know how she is around children, but we think she'd do better with age 12 and up, as she likes to mouth hands and feet.

If you have the time and energy to work with a hyperactive youngster, Lola could be the girl for you.
